Red Arrow Tap Room
New Elmhurst tap room lets you come for the beer, stay for the barbeque
Smoke’s up at Red Arrow Tap Room, where high tech meets craft beer and backyard BBQ. This new-concept pub and eatery touts hands-on self-service. Stop by for a quick bite, and you’ll order from an iPad handily installed at the table. An app settles your bill, with tax and tip rolled in.
But don’t worry, help is on hand, with friendly servers and expert “pourmasters” to guide you through 48 local micro-brews, plus wines and ciders on tap.
A menu of “shareables” features crispy Candied Bacon Strips, Jalepeno Cornbread, and spicy yet sneakily healthy Buffalo Cauliflower Bites. Smoked barbecue is the star. Pitmaster Chris Boletz earned his chops in the barbecue kitchen at Chicago’s House of Blues. Mouth-watering standards include beef brisket, baby back ribs, grass-fed burgers and pulled pork, all with a choice of Kansas City sweet or Texas spicy BBQ sauce.
Even in the noodle soup or Caesar salad, the chicken is marinated and smoked, delivering deep, textured flavors and a kick of heat. Veggie and gluten-free selections round out the menu.
Steps from the Metra station at 111 E 1st St. in downtown Elmhurst, Red Arrow is easily accessible.Edit Module
