Everdine’s Grilled Cheese Co.
New Naperville eatery brings a culinary twist to the classic sandwich
Everdine’s Grilled Cheese Co. recently opened in downtown Naperville, featuring a creative menu aimed at elevating the status of a comfort food standby.
Jointly owned by Kelly Herkert and her husband Brian, the restaurant (24 W. Jefferson Ave., 630 544-6626) is attracting dine-in and carry-out customers eager to sample the couple’s creative sandwiches, soups and salads.
“The most popular dish is ‘The Usual Suspect,’ featuring bacon and tomato paired with American, Swiss and havarti on Texas toast,” says Herkert.
Another in-demand sandwich is the “Eddie Mack and Cheese,” which is named after Herkert’s father Eddie. It stars macaroni and cheese disguised as grilled cheese on Texas toast. Customers can also build their own custom grilled sandwich featuring their favorite cheese, meat and/or veggie.
Prices range from $5 to $8.75 while made-in-house soups go for $5.50 a bowl or $3 a cup. A children’s menu is available with items priced at $6. Everdine’s does not serve alcohol.
The venue is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.Edit Module
