New casual upscale eatery brings explosive flavors to Oak Brook
Singapore-raised and New York-trained Executive Chef Mohan Ismail ups the ante on innovation at this casual-upscale newcomer to Oakbrook Center’s restaurant-scape (2022 Spring Rd.,
Crafted in-house with fresh ingredients and ground-daily spice blends, imaginative dishes transport diners to the kitchens of Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.
Hot and cold appetizers include crunchy coconut milk calamari, spicy ahi rolls with peanut sauce, and a Thai Tom Yum Goong soup — a spicy sweet & sour confection with shrimp and fish. Among the entrées are hand-crafted green and red curries, a golden noodle and shrimp dish infused with chives and chili soy, and a Malay Char Siew rice bowl with pork belly, broccoli, and crispy ginger garlic, topped with a fried egg. Star of the dessert menu is the Che Sundae, a decadent take on a Vietnamese street treat.
