Victory Meat and Seafood
Steaks, chops and Mediterranean-inspired fare in downtown Elmhurst
A childhood friendship has evolved into a new restaurant partnership at Victory Meat and Seafood in Elmhurst (116 N York Rd., 630 359-5599). Tony Gambino and Chef Joe Farina, who grew up together in Melrose Park, recently opened this stylish, Mediterranean-inspired dining experience.
Farino, with an impressive 25-year career in Chicago eateries, has created an elegant yet affordable menu of premium steaks, veal and chops, plus an array of seafood choices — fresh mussels, clams, tuna, shrimp and lobster. Early favorites include crispy herb brick chicken, a risotto of the day and signature frîtes that come topped with warm butter.
A shucking station features fresh East and West Coast oysters daily, or guests can build a Seafood Tower, with colossal shrimp, crab legs, clams and lobster tail.
The light, airy space seats 75, with 15 more at a long bar serving signature cocktails. There’s also an extensive wine list, with noteworthy French selections.
Opening hours are Mon – Thur, 4 - 10 p.m; Sat 4 – 11 p.m; Sun 3 – 9 p.m.Edit Module
