Tropical Eatery now open in Westmont

The long-anticipated opening of Jimmy’s Island Grille at 800 E. Ogden Ave., Westmont (630) 789-2722 finally took place in early May, following extensive remodeling of the property.
Diners at the 250-seat restaurant will find a tropical Caribbean and Hawaiian motif with a menu featuring fresh seafood, including Alaskan King Crab, flown in daily, and prime steaks prepared by Chef Pablo Hernandez, who previously owned and operated the now-closed Victoria’s Mexican Grill in Long Grove.
“We’re offering fine dining in a laid-back atmosphere,” says service manager Karin Howard. There’s a full bar service, including Mai Tais and other specialty cocktails. The general manager is Harlan Tarr.
Reservations are accepted, and one can expect a per-person tab average of $45.
Jimmy’s Island Grille is open for lunch and dinner Sunday-Thursday from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
