Mancini's Chop House
Steak, seafood and pasta with Mediterranean flair in Melrose Park
classic Italian chop house promises to combine an intimate ambiance, traditional Mediterranean cuisine and solicitous service at 1807 Division St. in Melrose Park (708 356-6303).
A wide and varied menu starts out with hot and cold appetizers, including Italian favorites like bruschetta with grape tomato, garlic, basil and extra virgin olive oil; artichoke braised in garlic butter; breaded calamari with spicy sauce; and fresh oysters.
Entrées are generously plated and served with pasta or fresh vegetables. There are classics like Bistecca Fiorentina — a top-grade NY strip steak wood-fired in a cast-iron skillet. A bone-in Amish half-chicken packs flavor and fills the plate. The eight-bone rack of lamb cooked in herbs, mushrooms and a dash of truffle oil is one of many other meat options. Clams, Chilean sea bass, fresh-water jumbo prawns with crab meat, and crispy-skin salmon filet make up the seafood choices.
A slate of house-made pasta dishes, pizzas and salads, including one with beets and goat cheese, makes for lighter fare.
A full bar with counter seating serves specialty cocktails, imported beers and fine wines.Edit Module
