Sushi, Sashimi, Steaks and More in Naperville
Eclectic Asian cuisine with a contemporary downtown vibe is the branding recipe behind Shakou, which will be opening its sixth Chicago-area location in mid to late July at 22 E. Chicago Ave. in Naperville. Here, the sleekly designed, modern interior is matched by visually striking dishes, vibrant with color and flavor.
That the ingredients are fresher than fresh is evident in the restaurant’s signature Sushi Boat, an appetizing array of tuna, salmon, Chilean sea bass and other fruits of the sea, elegantly prepped into sashimi, nigiri and maki rolls. There are dozens of inventive choices to order à la carte, too.
Yet the menu reaches beyond sushi to include premium steaks, Berkshire pork chops, short ribs braised in sweet ginger soy, and Korean Bul Go Gi — or “fire meat” — which is a ginger soy marinated beef with vegetables.
Other specialties include the hot and spicy Indonesian favorite Senbal Shrimp as well as Korean Bi Bim Bap, a stone bowl filled with soy bean sprouts, mushrooms, zucchini, carrots, onion, BBQ beef and rice topped with a sunny side up egg. Shakou’s other locations are in St. Charles, Arlington Heights, Barrington, Park Ridge and Libertyville.Edit Module
