Fat Rosie's Taco & Tequila Bar
A fiesta of color and flavor in downtown Naperville
Color zings off the plates at Fat Rosie’s, opening this month at 47 E. Chicago Ave. in downtown Naperville (630 328-0060). The latest venture of Francesca’s Restaurant Group — known for upscale Italian restaurants across the western suburbs — Fat Rosie’s takes a sharp turn from elegance into great fun. Modern and vibrant, this Mexican taqueria-plus serves everything from empanadas to enchiladas. Authenticity and freshness are evident in every dish, such as the made-to-share Platter Surtido, with guacamole, seviche, sopes and crispy quesadillas. There’s even a huge El Patron Gordo Burrito — free to guests who can eat it in under 12 minutes!
Pink candelabras hang from high ceilings, a bar is stacked with multi-colored plates and cocktail glasses, and a wall of glass doors and windows opens the 108-seat space onto a 12-seat patio, bringing a splash of color to the streets.
Owner Scott Harris named Fat Rosie’s after a steadfast donkey he once encountered working the Agave fields in Mexico — and the successful restaurateur brings that same attitude, wrapped in a fiesta of fun and flavor, to Naperville’s newest hot spot.Edit Module
