Elegant, upscale dining in Downers Grove
Cooper's Hawk Restaurants
Downers Grove has joined an enviable list of western suburbs that are home to the elegant, upscale dining experience offered by Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants. The newest expansion of the award-winning restaurant, winery, artisan market and Napa-style tasting room concept opened its doors last month at 1801 Butterfield Rd., 331 233-2920.
Centered around the enjoyment of fine wines, the venue features an expertly curated list as well as a rotating monthly flight paired with light bites. Candied bacon, artisan cheeses, crispy Brussels sprouts and Thai lettuce wraps are among the appetizers.Guests can choose to dine on the rooftop terrace, in the spacious interior that evokes the architecture of California wine country, or on the street-level patio, There’s also a custom tasting room, a take-it-home shop, and a private dining room.
The menu has a contemporary, California vibe, too. Executive Chef Matt McMillan presents dishes infused with international flavors, with entrées like the pan-roasted barramundi (Asian sea bass)served with a Thai-inspired sauce, the shrimp and scallop risotto, and the Asian pork belly tostadas with a sweet chili bbq kick.
Desserts are an elevated spin on American favorites — a key lime pie, s’mores with caramel custard, or the Cooper’s Hawk chocolate cake.Edit Module
