Chuy’s Fine Tex Mex
Texas favorite brings a formula of fresh flavors and fun to Warrenville
Fun is mixed right into the salsa at Chuy’s Fine Tex Mex (28250 Diehl Rd, Warrenville, 630 393-0911). Founded in Austin in 1982, this popular restaurant chain has become a fixture of the fast-food scene in Texas and neighboring states. The interior is a festival of color, with brightly patterned tile flooring and fabricated palm trees planted among cafeteria-style tables.
There’s plenty of color on the plate, too. Hand-rolled tortillas and fresh guacamole are made from scratch, as are all menu items. Fresh hand-pulled chicken stars in such customer favorites as the Big As Yo Face Burritos and the Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom Enchiladas. Ten handcrafted signature sauces — as colorful as a painter’s palette — vary from a mild Tomatillo to a zesty salsa made from chiles harvested in Hatch, New Mexico, the world’s best green chili growing region.
Says owner/operator Larry Cappos, “Customers will quickly pick up on the fact that all our food is made from scratch. They’ll taste the difference and know it’s fresh.”
Fresh taste is the signature of Chuy’s drinks menu, too. Margaritas boast fresh-squeezed limes while martinis are made with tequila infused with roasted green chilis.
A second west suburban outlet is slated to open in Schaumburg by year’s end.Edit Module
