Offering a contemporary take on the classic Northwoods lodge, the recently opened Driftwood Grille in Oakbrook Terrace (815 374-3893) is equal parts supper club and sports bar, says owner Brad Banaszak of Downers Grove.
The open, airy interior features high vaulted ceilings with wooden crossbeams and large circular metal chandeliers. The focal point of the main dining area is a large welcoming, double-sided stone fireplace. The large adjacent bar area provides ample TV viewing for sports enthusiasts.
The menu features traditional American fare with a Northwoods twist. Favorites include a pretzel loaf stuffed with smoked gouda, provolone cheese, garlic butter and fresh rosemary with a pilsner beer mustard and beer cheese fondue; and the Sunrise Burger with a fried egg, potato rosti, bacon and cheddar cheese on a maple glazed brioche bun.
Appetizers range from $12-$16, handhelds from $15-21 and entrées from $17-$42. An All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry is offered on Friday and a Supper Club Prime Rib on Saturday.
The bar features 32 craft beers on tap.
Driftwood Grille is located at 17W648 22nd St. next door to Club Hawthorne & PointsBet Sportsbook.
